DOT Physical Services IN New Jersey


DOT has laid down certain physical and medical qualifications for the truck drivers. They are as follows:
•    The correctable vision of the driver in both eyes should be 20/40. So this means that the driver can wear glasses or contact lenses for the correction of impaired vision.


•    The driver must not be diabetic but if he or she is under oral medication or is following dietary regulations for condition control, then the driver can qualify the DOT physical in Belleville


•    The blood pressure reading of the driver with or without prescription medication should be 140-159/90-99. At this reading he will get 1-year certificate, while for reading 160-179/100-109 he or she will get 3-month temporary certificate. Department of Transportation does not accept the blood pressure reading of more than 180/110.

 
•    Lastly, the blood sugar level should be less than 200 mmol/L.
